Too early to give up on Drouin. He’s still put up 50 point so in 71 games, which isn’t terrible. He needs to find consistency, but he’s only 23 years old. He’s an offensive catalyst for the team and we’ll regret shipping him away.

He’s failed to score a goal in 15 games and hasn’t had a point since his four-tally night against the Detroit Red Wings. Additionally, that Detroit victory was the last time Drouin finished a game as a plus with each of his next seven games saw him finish even or a minus.

Yeah, sure +/- is not the best stat to look at a player's performance, but it is an indicative stat... all point to the lack of anything consistent he has done (other than blind-pass turn-overs, for which he has been consistent in pretty much every game) and marginal offensive output.

As I have said before, he is a borderline 2nd line player (at best) in most top teams.

at the time I was okay with the trade, thinking Drouin could play center. since he cannot, the trade makes a lot less sense.
last year Drouin was in a new city, new team, played a new position, everything went wrong for everyone... he gets a pass.
but for this season, what's his excuse?

He’s never been constant, he’s not that good in his zone and his offense comes in burst. He pretty useless 75% of the time but will be a key player helping you win the other 25%
